Folder marker is an icon changer for folders that can be run on XP and Vista. It doesn’t make many modifications to the system settings. Each folder can be marked with its own priority settings: high or low priority, planned work, approved work, etc. Well, this is useful if you have a lot of folders and you need to easily recognize the folder that you are working on. Shell extension to easily change the icons is available in the Pro version.
There are a lot of built-in folder icons to choose from, including the whole letters of the alphabet, but this is available only in the Pro version. Of course, there is a feature to add our own icons. But there is no icon editor, and we cannot customize the icons provided.
It doesn’t make many modifications to Windows; it just uses the feature of Windows to change the icon of a folder. Windows usually stores these settings in the “c:\documents and settings” folder. Thus, making customizations in each folder can increase the folder size. No other registry settings are made, so this program is completely safe.
Settings to restore all the default icons, refresh the whole cache, or restore all the changes we have made, are available. One thing, be sure to restore the changes when you uninstall the program, because the icons and the program are too much related.
The folder will display the icons, even if the program is not running. It is a good program, I liked it. |
